As a followup to this thread, here's my attempt at an eyedropper conversion of the Lamy Vista:

I ordered a Vista from Pam and also ordered a barrel for the Vista rollerball from the Lamy parts site.

I didn't bother replacing the plastic ring with a rubber o-ring, i just used a generous amount of silicone grease. Looks like it works!

Remember, you saw it here first smile.gif

Sheesh! What an elegant and simple answer. That I would never have considered. Nice.

This is cool, congrats on a simple and elegant solution.

But what's the point?

The Lamy cartridge already holds a generous amount of ink, so other than the "I did it" factor, I don't get it.

Very nice!
Well,I'm guessing the ink capacity is greatly increased, the pen is not that light and becomes better balanced, and it looks a lot better than with the converter in.
Nice work! thumbup.gif

A very ingenious solution!

Kind of makes me want to buy a rb so that I can have a matching fp/rb set instead of just buying a new barrel.

I love to see my ink sloshing about in the barrel and it's probably 3x the ink that's in a cartridge (if not more).

I think Lamy cartridge (opaque) and converter (especially the one with red part) are rather unsightly in Vista. I just ordered a Vista section from Lamy U.S.A. wink.gif

Whatever makes you happy, its your pen.

1) I usually get tired of a pen long before it runs out of ink, so capacity is not, nor has my amount of use ever made it, an issue. I have too many other good pens to use I guess.

2) While "sloshing" is fun, cleaning isn't.

But, whatever makes you happy, its your pen.

Wait, did the pen come in that tube? My Lamy 2000 came back from service in the same thing.

I converted my Lamy Vista RB to eye-dropper, after reading Siv's direction and tips. I bought a section from Lamy U.S.A. and voila!

Thank you very much for starting this thread, Siv cloud9.gif

P.S. Garageboy, they sent the section in that tube, too.

Whoa. That's a ton of ink. I like the sloshing too, but hey I have a lava lamp on my desk here at work so I dig some blobbin.

One question though, how does the silicone grease get into or reaction in anyway with the ink or does it just "stay put" in the threads? I fear that the grease my travel its way into the section of the pen.

Thanks~
