I want a "USA"!

Hi, I am new to this forum.

 

I am from Korea and a penholic person.

 

I have a Rotring which says "made in Germany", lots of parkers which says "made in UK", "made in France" or "made in USA" and a Sailor which says "made in Japan".

 

Today all of Parkers have "made in UK" yet several years ago lots of them were "made in USA" or "made in France".

 

My USA parker fountain pen is now to retire and so I need a fountain pen which says USA. Because I know my old Century ball point pen has "made in USA" phrase, I expected for the Cross pens to have it. Sadly today I found out that current models don't have "USA".

 

Anybody tell me please if there still is a cross fountainpen which has USA on it!

As you stated, current Cross pens don't have "USA" stamped on them. I'm sure you may still be able to find some at retailers who still carry old stock or perhaps on ebay, but Cross now has most of it's pens manufactured entirely or in part overseas. Some models are made in China, some in Japan, and some are assembled in the States with foreign parts. You're best bet for finding a Cross stamped "USA" is checking with PenHero to see if he has any new old stock Cross pens available.

We do have made in USA Cross pens in our stock, but they are not in all models. Mostly the Century II pens. If you will let us know, we can check stock for you.

Then how about the centuryII Art Deco or Sterling silver?

Art Deco has a gold nib but Sterling silver doesn't.

Can Sterling silver have the nib of Art Deco instead of its originally attached one?

I own a gray Century II made in USA.

And a black matte Century II made in China.

Same pen.

Instead of retiring the Parker 'USA' can't you have it repaired to like new?

I have a "made in USA" Cross Metropolis headed my way. There are quite a few NOS Cross pens offered on ebay now. I've been tracking them for awhile. I was surprised when I won the Metropolis bid last weekend. I've been bidding the same maximum bid for 6-8 months now. I fully expected to be outbid once again.

I won one of those on eBay a couple of years ago. It was the best Cross fountain pen I've ever had. Unfortunately it's tenure was short lived, as I dropped it nib down onto a hard floor about 4 days after I received it. I have been meaning to send it to Cross for a repair estimate, but I never seem to get around to it!
