International Traveling Journal ITJ 02

I'm getting a little nervous, though. Mail hasn't come yet today, but I'm going to start wondering if it doesn't show up today. It was mailed from California to Colorado a week ago today. It normally takes things a whole 2-3 days to get to me from California. A week is a bit long. We'll see.

The worst thing it can happen is that we have to repeat the whole thing over. Sounds like double fun to me...;) No sweat, what is meant to be, will be. Ce qui doit arriver, arrivera. Lo que tenga que ser, será ;).Meanwhile, let's think for the best.

And...

It has arrived! The new mailman was lucky there were a bunch of boxes between him and me, the hug would have been a bear!

Dang, for the inexpensive little journal it is and for having been on a nice trip, it sure is holding up well!

Round two about to begin. It's only half full! :)

It was terrific to read everyone's thoughts that preceded me. Now that's its going around again, I'm looking forward to finding out about those after me.

I didn't imagine having more than one 'circulation'...what fun :)

You don't really think I'd let you off the hook, do you? The journal(s) will circulate until you guys say STOP! When there isn't room for another entry, the next person on the list will start the next blank book. ;) I'm very tempted to add a surprise here and there as we go along.

Seriously, it doesn't stop until you are tired of it. People may come and may go, but for a circle of friends, it's there for all of us.

edit: oh, and don't forget, when this one is filled, not only will I send scans to everyone, but remember I'll be raffling off the original to one of you! So, you have to keep going and filling journals so everyone gets a treasure! :D

There is a method to my madness. You cannot escape new friends. Life's greatest treasure, next to those we love.

I was just joking, I didn't write anything inflamatory as I recall. I am looking forward to the second go around. I'm going to write my thoughts about manufacturing in the United States, and what I'm doing about it. I'm going to write about Domaflitchy. :happyberet:

Does that mean you filled up 01? Is it traveling with 02?

No, on both counts. :)

There are 3 separate journals out there that I originated: ITJ 01, ITJ 02, and ITJ 03, all separate groups. ITJ 02 is the one this group is working on, still version .1. It should fill on this next round.

ITJ 01 and ITJ 03 have yet to finish their maiden rounds.

Are we (ITJ02) a speedy bunch, Kimi, less loquacious, or are there simply fewer of us? :D

The groups all are about equal.

I'd say with summer vacations and life emergencies and distractions, this bunch has been on the right side of timing, is all.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
