Looks like a cartridge pen (or converter) to me. Nice pen by the way!

To me, it looks more like a Parker 45 "clone".

Will international size cartridges fit?

Do you all think this was a good buy?

It's way too fat for a CS:

It looks almost as if it were a "school" pen based on the Classique or Generations style. It's almost certainly a cartridge/converter model. Even the seller claims to know nothing about the pen, but he says it's never been used. I think a price under $20.00 is probably more than fair for a Montblanc.

On Tuesday my Montblanc cartridge pen arrived. It is a great pen, IMHO, because it combines German quality and austerity in one pen. I consider it a Bauhaus design, although it is not as Bauhaus as the Lamy 2000.

The pen appears to have been barely used. The pen resembles the Parker 45 design, but it is a much sturdier than the 45.

The pen accepts international cartridges, and the smooth nib lays down a wet medium line. Perhaps it is a bit too broad for my taste, but I like the workhorse quality of the pen.

Maybe I will post a review of this pen, and I may even put it up for sale if the medium nib will remain too broad for me. But the looks are great!

Hi Dillon,

When I looked at the pen yesterday, I thought this pen would very much fit your hand, because it is such a 45 style pen. :D

When I want to trade or sell the pen, I will contact you first!

Hi,

Well, I got it, and it has a chromed brass cap with a spring-loaded inner cap. The nib is a broad in the Carrera style. The cap is like that of a Carrera with a Generations clip. :)

I just bought a converter for it at the Montblanc Boutique and a bottle of green ink and Season's greetings.

Well, I will take it to the boutique next time to show the associate as I promised (not for identification) and will pin a 114 and 145 in one shot... Then I will buy a bottle of Bordeaux, Turquoise, Racing Green, Sepia, and maybe a few permanent blue-black and possibly a converter for my Carrera. Time to start saving!!!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
