Hi,

How long is the turnaround time for Lamy Service Centre in Germany? I sent my Lamy 2000 there, but haven't gotten her back yet.

Will someone with the name of "Jay" who emailed me through the email system provide me an email address? There was no email address provided, so I can't write back.

When did you send it over to Lamy. If you figure it's getting into the xmas buying season and has to travel internationally there is probably a few weeks of waiting involved.

Heck I've had some pens to service for months ( Conway Stewart to name one example).

Germany???? Sent mine to:

Lamy Pens

372 Danbury Road

Wilton, CT 06897

Great service. Turnaround was, IIRC, less than three weeks. Dealt with their nib repair man - Bob Nurin (203-563-2200). My AL-Star came with a fine that was too scratchy, and he replaced it with another fine that is smooooooth :D . Two :bunny1: :bunny1: up for Bob and Lamy's US service center.

Hi,

Got it back from Lamy Germany! Nice! Very quick service. I sent Ellen--my Parker 45 to Parker a bit earlier and it still isn't back yet. <_<

Hi,

It is very, smooth, wet, and has some springy flexibility. I have the extra-fine nib now. :)

About same turnaround time as Waterman. Did you have to pay them to do a nib exchange? Waterman made me pay $10 for a nib exchange from fine to extra-fine. Turnaround time was about 3 weeks.

Hi,

It was free.

Waterman, Parker, Rotring, and Sensa told me that it would take 6-8 weeks and that is what I have been getting.

Dillo,

Did you send them just your nib section or the entire pen?

Also, could you please post their contact information, I too would like to send my Lamy 2000 in for a nib exchange.

Thanks,

Bryan

Hi,

I sent the whole thing. Just send it to the address on their page or on the back of your Lamy manual. The whole address is just the city, zip code, and country.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
