A New Design from Pencraft

Hey everyone.

I have a new design to introduce.

This is the Glenmont.

My inspiration came from the Parker Duofolds.

All of these are various ebonites.

Orange Ebonite

Aqua Ebonite

post-4002-1205003050_thumb.jpg

All of these pens are shown with upgrades - ebonite sections and gold nibs.

There is a little bit of bad news....some of these are already sold out.

Orange - 3 made - all sold

Red Black - unlimited

Green Black - unlimited

Mustard Ripple - 1 made - sold

Green Ripple - 1 made - available

Aqua - 1 made, enough ebonite for 2 more - all available.

I was waiting for a special design to devote some of my best ebonite to, and this is it. What you see above is all I have left, with the exception of the ones that I marked "unlimited".

Unfortunately, it's very tough to find the rare ebonites these days. I have some orange/black swirly stuff that should be arrive sometime, so keep your eyes open for that material.

I will be doing this design in acrylics, however. So if you are a fan of the orange that looks like the Big Red, I have plans to get that going in acrylic, along with others.

These will start at $210 with a plastic section and standard steel nib.

Ebonite section adds $30.

Taccia steel nib adds $25

Bock 14k gold nib adds $90

Bexley 18k gold nib adds $110

If anyone is interested in buying, please do not PM me your order. Email me at brian@pencraftonline, or use the "add to cart" buttons on the website. And that way, it's first come first serve on the rare stuff.

You can read more about the pen here...

Thanks!

Beautiful pens....but not as beautiful as the Herald! That's the one that floats my boat.

Brian,

Great idea! They look better than the originals (sorry, sacrilege for some).

I'm saving furiously to be able to afford one of your pens...

I am one of the lucky three to snag one of Brian's Glenmonts in orange ebonite. I've added a black ebonite section and a medium 14k gold Bock nib. I haven't received the pen yet, but from the photos Brian sent me it looks outstanding. I had originally approached Brian to make one in the black/red ebonite, but as soon as he had shown me the orange ebonite I knew that was what I had to have; none the less, I still like the black/red ebonite. I plan to write a review on the pen once I've used it for a few days. The suspense is killing me.

Rufus, that's how I felt about the aqua. :)

Deirdre, did you buy it? I should be honest, I like all of them and could have taken anyone if he hadn't had the orange ebonite.

These don't post, do they?

I ask only because I think I have learned in the past that all the other models don't post. That's the only downside I see to this pen because it is otherwise just superb. Perhaps one day, I'll be in a position to own one. Let's say that it gives me something to look forward to. :)

Life is unfair, I would love on of the green and black ones, however at that price point my wife would have me signing some very bad paper with them! These are all beautiful pens, good work!

Alex

Alex it was after I read your review of Feb 8, An Homage to Vintage, that I approached Brian to see if he would make a similar pen for me. As it so happened, Brian was about to begin working on the Glenmont when I contacted him; on March 1 he sent me a picture of the prototype and the rest is history.

Hi Rufus...

Brian is truely a master at his craft. Seeing the production version of the original design is way cool. It makes me feel kinda like a proud Uncle of sorts :D

That orange ebonite is sweeeet! You are a lucky owner my friend.

The suspense of waiting for my orange ebonite Glenmont to arrive is killing me. I feel like kid on Christmas eve.

John/sumgaikid, they're C/C fillers, but Brian has an aerometric hybrid converter that he tells me holds a lot more ink than your standard pump-action or twist action converter.

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

The caps do not post, and yes...they are cartridge/converter filling.

I will make a correction to Rufus' post...and it's my fault.

I have mispoken to a couple of clients. The aerometric converters actually have about the same ink capacity as the standard converters.

Visually, they look like they are a lot bigger, but a client of mine took a syringe and measured both, and came up the aerometric holding only about 5% more.

My apologies to those that I may have misled.

Brian, no big deal, in fact no deal at all. It's about the best looking pen I've ever seen, and the filler is hardly important, IMO...I still want all of them.

Hey, Brian, do the caps post?

I kid! I kid!

Some of us are just addicted to posting. :)

If anything would be able to cure me of that habit, it would be a pen as beautiful as this one.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
