WTT: my Burgundy Mist for your normal ink

Wanted to trade:

I have a bottle, 95%+ full, of Private Reserve's Burgundy Mist ink. It is roughly the color of a wine stain, and is heavily saturated, very rich looking.

I would like to trade it for a more conservative color, or for a set of about a dozen Parker refills like this:

Anyone? Anyone? Bueler? Anyone? Your plain-Jane ink for my PR BM. Your whack-o-refills for my PR BM.

Do you want PR Lake Placid Blue?

I guess I could suffer it ... but I'm all full up on blues here. I'd be more interested in spending that shipping cost (and occasioning a cost for you, too) for a conservative green or red, or even a plain black.

Henri: Burgundy Mist performs very nicely. It is very dark and saturated, and dries to a solid singular color. I didn't find it to be overly wet, despite its highly saturated color (I am left handed so I would tend to notice). My only disappointment is in the color itself -- too non-standard for me.

PR Spearmint?

JMKeuning: I'd be happy to trade my bottle of PR Burgundy Mist for a bottle of PR Spearmint, as long as its color as depicted on this color chart is accurate. PM me if you'd like to go through with it. :)

Ink is at work so I cannot compare, even then, I could not make promises. I can send you some writing samples, or even better, and ink sample. I have the ink exchange vials, so this will be easy.

Then you can decide!

Bump.

95% full bottle of Private Reserve Burgundy Mist still available.

Looking for the mentioned refills (about a dozen?) or a bottle of a "traditional" brand of ink in a "conservative" color, preferably a darker green, purple, red, or black. (I'm chock full o' blues here already.)

Its a pretty standard ink, but I've got an unopened bottle of Parker Black Quink or a bottle of Noodlers Polar Black (98%) that I'd be willing to trade...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
