My new Taccia

This snap should give you a pretty good idea of what one Taccia Swisher Mint looks like. The other side of the cap is more like the barrel section you see. BTW, when I look at it the word "mint" does not come to mind. :ltcapd:

My mint stripe came in today. It is very different from this picture in regard to color distribution, but the colors are the same. I thought the word "mint" referred to a mint green stripe, but as soon as I looked at the pen I could tell it refers to mint candy. I have seen spearmint striped candy with the white and green mixture of color that resembles the design on the pen. I like the desert swirl better.

Neither of these two pens would have been my choice based on color selection if there had been other choices. The more I use the desert swirl, the more I like the way it looks. I'm sure the mint stripe will be the same. I've already inked it, and it writes just as well as the desert swirl. I'm definitely glad that I purchased these two.

I just got a Desert Swirl. Wow - what an amazing steel nib. By far smoother than most of the gold nibs I have. The pen is HUGE capped. But uncapped it is wonderfully comfortable (the threads just sit at the very end of the cap, making the capped size 6 inches).

Buy one of these while they last!! The best deal on my desk.

I recently purchased a Taccia Staccato Jasper Red. The combined cost of the Taccia Mint Stripe and the Desert Swirl that I bought was less than the Staccato. The Staccato is a great pen, but I think the Mint Stripe and the Desert Swirl are a little better. It is a great buy. I wish there were more color options.

Yes I have a lunar blue which I picked up at the DC Pen show and I love the color, it is really a beautiful deep blue and much more deep space then lunar IMHO. Writes very well.

Does Taccia make a pen in the M6xx size range?

Taccia makes several sizes of pens. The dimensions are given on Swisherpens website when you look up each of the styles (portuguese, staccato, continental, etc.). I'm not certain if they match the M6xx size, but the measurement info on their website should be helpful.

I checked...the Imperial Portuguese and the Continental are similar in size to the M6xx.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
