Pelikan M7000 Majesty: Two *HUGE* JPEGs

Many FPN members are impatiently awaiting the unveiling of Pelikan's M7000 Majesty, an event whose time is finally due (coming to a FP dealer near you in October, 2007). I'm of the opinion that it represents one of, if not the most innovative and unique Pelikan fountain pen designs to date. The proud title Majesty says it all, IMHO.

I've never felt this compelled to purchase any one FP, so . . . if its reviews are positive, I am definitely going to buy one.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Best Regards from Encinitas, CA.

I will also buy one, but allow me to correct you. These are not photos, they are computer generated images. Real photos of this baby are still mysteriously hard to come by.

Thanks a lot, Tytyvyllus.

Here are several more links for you:

I could provide a few more . . . however, they, too (at the present time) are simply links to vaporware. :(

Best Regards,

I was hoping it would be out this month so that I might stand a chance of seeing one in Dallas. But now October?

It's not for me. I am not a lover of metal-bodied pens to be honest, preferring the tactile feel of raw ebonite rather than cold steel. I mostly like the look of it though, but could manage a little less gold plate! It's also beyond the budget. I would rather spend this sort of money on a Nakaya or another Dani.

I still love my other Pelikans though and in a choice between the 805 and the Densho the 805 looks classier, but when the Mikado comes along, who knows what pen I might be choosing as my preferred pen.

So fickle!!

I do not plan to buy the M7000 Majesty because it is my understanding that it has the same nib as the M600 series of pens. That nib is just too small. When Pelikan introduces a similar pen at a larger size (M800 or M1000), I will buy it.

Still don't think I like this pen even if it is a Pelikan.

However I think it looks pretty good without the sleeve, shame about the metal section though, wonder if Pelikan would make one with the clear barrel (choice of colours) metal piston cover and plastic/resin section & metal cap (just a suggestion).

Talking about over hyped and overpriced items ....

Actually you need to go to the MB forum for that. :clap1:

Just kidding, honest, but I couldn't resist.

I like the looks, but having to take the section off to fill it?

So it's another M600 size pen. Nevermind for me too. :headsmack:

My understanding is that it is actually much thicker than a M600, and with a slightly longer barrel. But the nib does seem the same.

Wrong. This date was postponed six months to October.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
