It's a CRV not a regular review so it won't show up in the list. Don't forget about the wonders of advanced searches.

Use the advanced google search for FPN.

In the upper right corner of this page next to the google search bar is a little icon for advanced search features. Look for a particular ink in this forum to see if it has been part of a CRV.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Yes, thanks, I always use the advanced search because the regular search doesn't seem to work for me - I get a bar that says "Google for FPN" and "loading..." that just sits there and nothing happens. I hadn't thought to check with it when I made that request, my bad.

I did come across a swab of it in your Inky TOD Green Swatches thread.

Where do I mention that my review of Diamine Emerald didn't make it to the list? There used to be a thread to add reviews to the list, but there isn't one any more.

Send me a PM telling me that it (and/or any others, of course) is/are missing. The INDEX OF INK REVIEWS is very un-up-to-date since around the Spring of 2015 (I think) and now that I've taken on this job recently, I'm working on that index regularly. Month for month. First, I started with January 2016, working forward up to February, then March; last time, a few weeks ago for all of April. Next is this May but I'm still working backwards from January 2016 back to around your review of Diamine's Emerald.

Hang tight!

Migo, an ink that you don't have? You have one of the most impressive collections I've ever gotten letters from - thank you for sharing.

Thank you Amber, but I'm pretty sure that many on here have far more inks than I :-) And I have fewer here than at home in the UK.

I think the S-K Cognac is new? I don't think I've seen it before.

ps. Your latest CRV sheets arrived here yesterday. I'll be replying during next week :-)

I would love it if someone could do a review on De Atramentis' Document Black ink! From what I can see on the other colours in the range, it has all the qualities I want in a permanent black, but I don't want to be disappointed in the colour. I really hope it's a nice black black and doesn't dry really grey...

Also, if anyone has any experience of it - as I don't use black a lot, I only want it for certain occasions, does it have any ill-effects in leaving it untouched in the pen for quite some time??

Many thanks!!

De Atramentis Document Black is not super black. It ends up very dark grey with a slight touch of brown.

However, it's super permanent. If it end up on a piece of paper, it will stay there until the paper dissolves.

If I'm not mistaken, it's a nano pigment ink and is not recommended to leave I the pen unused for longer periods. It can clog and be a pain to clean out.

Thanks Andy - that's what I was afraid of.

Does anyone happen to know how long is too long for these inks?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
