Chopin: Does it have any unique markings?

So I want to buy a Chopin because a) I like Chopin and B) I miss the feel of a Montblanc nib (I sold my 146 a short time ago). However, in all the pictures I see of it, I don't see "Chopin" written on it anywhere, or any other distinctive markings that separate this pen from a standard Meisterstuck. Am I missing something here?

Thanks!

Montblanc Meisterstuck 145 Chopin.

Length - Capped - 14cm.

Length - Uncapped - 12.5cm.

Length - Posted - 15.5cm.

It looks like all other Montblanc Meisterstucks - Jet black, white star, gold (or platinum) bands around the end of the barrel and the bottom and top of the cap. 14kt gold nib. A brand new Chopin should come in a square cardboard box with piano-keys on the cover. Inside should be lined with (felt?) and have a special recess for the pen to rest in. It will have "FREDERIC CHOPIN", done up in Chopin's signature, in the bottom right hand corner, in gold. The pen itself is identifiable as a Chopin if it has a small gold (or platinum) band at the top of the section, just below the cap-threads at the base of the barrel.

That is exactly the description of my Mont Blanc FP, the photo's fit as well. I do not have the box or papers, bought off e-bay etc.. I got it reasonably cheaply, the cap has a chip out of it on the lip of 1.5mm wide, triangular up to the first cap band.

It was identified in a pen store here as being an original, though a friend who is vey into MB's, but vintage and bigger models, had considered it a possible fake. It is a cartridge filler BTW. Would that fit with the Chopin, or is there anothe similiar model ?

Thanks

Sorry, would WHAT fit into a Chopin?

I supose he means would the description fit a chopin. I suppose it would. But a picture is better than a thousand words in this case!

Oh right...

Yeah, the Chopin is a converter/cartridge filler. In the current range of Meisterstucks, Chopins are the smallest pens that allow TWO cartridges to be fitted into the same pen. That's another way to check.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
