Wow, those look beautiful. Not to be cheeky, but what is your price for them?

If you click on the link at the bottom of his page, it takes you to his web site, where he shows this, as well as other scrumptious looking pens. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for, and SWMBO has put me on NAM (non acquisition mode) until further notice. These tempt me to raise my ceiling of what I will pay for a pen.

Sleek and elegant.

That just about sums it up for me too :)

Really nicely finished as well.

I have to chime in.... I am awaiting delivery on one of Brian's pens. It's currently at the engravers. I plan on writing a detailed review when I receive it. But I have to say that working with (and I do mean working) Brian has been awesome. Besides providing what appear to be beautiful pens, Brian like many of his pen turning colleagues and merchants here on FPN is a true professional. He has provided selections, recommendations and added his opinion when appropriate. He offered to send me examples of the different materials and even took pictures of my pen with different furniture so I could decide.

I truly believe that in working with him, I am getting a "custom" pen that I had full input on. I did not just select the material and design. He has solicited my input for everything, even the amount of taper on the barrel! We worked closely together finding just the right font for my engraving and the right location. He even provided weight and length specs to make sure I was ok with it.

I have to add this last comment that speaks volumes to Brian's customer service ethic. He completed my initial order within a week, but there was a minor flaw in the completed product. When I say minor, it was 2 thousandths of an inch off where the finial met the barrel. Now, Im detail oriented but I am pretty sure I would have never noticed, but Brian apologized and started over. That is pretty good customer service in my opinion.

Thus far it has been a great experience. I will update everyone when the pen comes in

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
