Name all three pens

OK, this shouldn't be too hard if you are into modern pens. The first one is very easy... then the 3rd one is not one you see everyday though... I think.

Nice pens, Kevin!

My guesses:

(1) Visconti Skeleton

(2) Sheaffer Commemorative Ltd. Edition (did you Photoshop out the White Dot? ;) )

(3) a big Italian Ltd. Edition of some sort :)

Hi Maja,

You got the first one right

You also got the 2nd one right, but what year?

You are on the right tract for 3rd. ;) It is by a smaller Italian pen company. The pen is a discountinued model, but both Pam Braun and FPH carry this brand (but not this pen) Enough hint ;)

(2) is the Sheaffer Ltd. Edition from 1996

(3) is made by: Aurora/Delta/Ferrari/Nettuno/Signum/Stipula/Visconti

Any more hints on #3?

I couldn't find it in my 2002/2003/2004 FPH catalogs....

OK, the number 3 is by Ferrari... but what model? ;)

Kev

The "Aura" model?

(and here I thought most Ferrari pens were red! )

You are the winner!!! Thanks for playing. Since you are the only one played, email me your address, and I'll send you a little surprise ;) no joke.

Awww, shucks....That is so nice of you, Kev

I sent you a couple of e-mails via the FPN e-mail system....speaking of which, is it possible to tell if an e-mail has been read or not, like we can with PMs?

Just curious.......

I am afraid you can't track an e-mail as you can with PM. PM would be the preferred method of communication here but there is a limit to the number of messages you can keep which you are unlikely to exceed in a short time unless your messages are graphic intensive. When that happens, you will need to clear old messages you no longer need. Just as you would with your e-mail programmes :D

Thanks Kev, that is very kind of you. It is not a requirement or condition of course. Just that it would be more fun if more members participated ;) I may conduct a few quiz myself :) Yes, 150 will make a nice community but if only more of them will come out of lurk mode  I hope the popularity of this site will get to a stage where we can see a new member register everyday. I would be very satisfied when that happens :D

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
