Yeah, I got some sort of weird "Oops" link only of course it wasn't in English.

I'm intrigued, but was expecting something much more exuberant and Liberace-sque (though I suppose that sort of gets it backwards... would be more appropriate to describe Liberace as Ludovican). At first glance it looked more like a gingerbread house, which also has a certain sense...

Huh. Given how over the top a lot of their "Tribute" pens are, I was not expecting something so, well, sedate. Especially given Neuschwanstein is just so over the top (my parents toured it on on of their trips to Europe).

OMG, my sleep deprived fog laden brain just got a hiccup with this.

Well those links didn't work for me but this one does

Ahh yes, I remember hearing about this a few weeks ago, heard that the fpen was a 144 or 145 size?

Moved on when I read something like that,

"Storyteller, unfold thy words untold!"

Well, the nib design looks interesting but the picture on the cap makes this look like something from the castle gift shop. I think it’s a bit tacky, to be honest.

but i think this is also true for many LE, SE, special dedication and whatnot pens, not limited to Montblanc brand.

Yeah. True that.... I just saw pix of the new Elvis pen and nothing says "tacky" like the name "Elvis" in gold dots/fake gemstones (couldn't tell which because I really didn't want to look that closely) across the "splat" on the cap.... :o

But the comment about it being something you'd see in a souvenir shop was also pretty apropos.... Except not for MB prices....

Its a shame its not on a 146. The design isn't as successful as the design for the German Concert Hall. I was very seriously tempted by that one. If memory serves that was on a 149.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
