Help Identifying A 1933 Golden Parker Duofold Pencil

Recently I came into possession of a curious Parker Duofold pencil. It looks pretty much exactly like normal Duofold pencils from 1930s, except it's solid gold and has an engraving at the top that seems to be the Coat of Arms of Kingdom of Romania used between 1922 and 1947. The engraving on the side reads "OFIT. INSPECT. G-L TECH. AL ARM. 5 IULIE 1933". Note that "IULIE" is "July" in Romanian. I scoured the internet for hours looking for any sort of information about this particular model but found pretty much nothing. If anyone knows anything, I'd appreciate any and all help.

The engraving at the top and the actual Coat of Arms I'm talking about for comparsion.

Pablo70, hi! Julian here, owner of www.stilourideieri.ro (Romanian for Yesterday's Pens). I own a repair shop down here in Romania, and I also am currently researching the history of writing implements either produced or related to Romania, from a historical point of view, and Royal House of Romania is is one of the subjects I am interested in. I would love to hear more on this pencil you have presented us with, it is quite astounding and haven't heard or seen before a pen (or pencil), engraved with the Royal Romanian coat of arms. Quite a capital piece, I assure you.

Is this something you have more info on? If so, and if possible of course, I would love to learn more.

Meanwhile, you may visit my website here: www.stilourideieri.ro. The language is Romanian, so if you do not speak the language, you can always auto-translate it in the language of your choice. More info on historical research you'll ever find elsewhere regarding Romanian - produced fountain pens, pencils and ballpoints, if you are so inclined.

Looking forward to hearing more about your beautiful pencil. All the best !

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
