Maiora Writing Culture

Good Day, Fellow Fountain Pen Admirers! Which pen manufacturer produces fountain pens with flawless fit and finish and threading, and has steel nibs which write like gold nibs, and utilizes special resins which look like cured celluloid? Yes, it's The Maiora Pen Company. Founder Nino Marino has earned his long-term, international reputation for excellence in creating the highest quality writing instruments. He is the head of Nettuno 1911 as well.
The Maiora Impronte Capri is a Numbered Edition Fountain Pen, produced in both Standard Size (in my attached photo) and Oversize. The captivating blue finish can only be fully appreciated in the hand--the photo does not adequately depict its exciting color. The body of the Capri is hand-turned from solid bars of particular resin. The cap is precisely threaded, and can be posted if desired. The pen's weight is well-balanced when writing. The clip is plated with durable rhodium, machined from solid brass, and then hand-finished.
There are 3 filling methods>A threaded piston converter with a rhodium-plated cover accessed at the section, or, unscrewing the blind cap at the bottom of the barrel to operate the piston converter, similar to turning a piston-filler knob, or, with standard ink cartridges.
The German nib and feeder work in harmony to provide a truly fun writing experience. A friend in Italy said it best..."Gotta love those Maiora nibs!" Nib grades available are Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, and Stub.

The mini section means I'd have to hold the pen at the stepdown and the threads, Hmm, no thanks.

Add lightness and simplicate.

I am normally really sensitive to barrel steps and sharp threads, but I didn't have any comfort issues with either size of the Maioras. Lots and lots of photos and a more detailed and balanced write-up in my review, if you're interested.

Yes, I agree - one of the most comfortable pens I have bought in a long time. So nice that I quickly bought a second!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
