The Dip comes right off- like pulling a piece of tape off the section. Zero damage! Actually often people use Plasti Dip to protect surfaces. 

 

I wish I could enjoy this pen with the naked section. Glad you enjoy your Classic as well! 

Have you tried the Intuition Platinum?

Same nib performance, a slightly larger grip, no metal section and no threads or step downs...

I love mine. I still do use the Classic thought, the writing experience is slightly different.

Yeah, I like it a lot. I was thinking about it but has it been discontinued? Seems like they're harder to find and the prices look like they've gone up.
