This is a Sheaffer 300 Iridescent Red fountain pen with a medium stainless steel nib c. 2008-2010. This 5 ½ inch long cartridge / converter pen has a polished chrome plated cap with chrome plated trim and an iridescent red acrylic resin barrel. The clip design is an homage to the Sheaffer Targa and is spring loaded. The nib unit is the same one used on the Prelude. The snap on cap also snaps onto the end of the barrel. These pens retailed for $70 in 2010.

We have more items to choose from here:

Hi Folks!

We just added several Porsche Design pens.

This is a Porsche Design P’3115 LaserFlex Steel ballpoint pen released in October 2012. This 5 3/4 inch long ballpoint pen has a very unusual design where the stainless steel case is made of laser cut steel elements combined into a flexible unit where pushing the cap top for the ballpoint tip to appear makes the lasered slots contract and release. The front end and the clip are also made out of stainless steel. The Porsche Design logo is lasered on the clip and the end. It was named Product of the Year at Paperworld 2013. Retail price was $695 in 2016.

Hi Folks!

This is another of the Porsche Design pens and is already sold.

This is a Porsche Design P'3130 Mikado ballpoint pen released in January 2011. This 5 5/8 inch long ballpoint pen has a very unusual design where 17 polished stainless steel rods surround the mechanism inside whether a ballpoint pen or mechanical pencil, forming a unique barrel. The individual stainless steel rods appear stiff and ordinary. However, when the user twists the pen or pencil to expel the tip, the rods straighten and return to their original positions around the barrel when the tip appears. The clip is removable by rotating 90 degrees but does not affect the function of the instrument. The Porsche Design logo is lasered at both ends where the rods connect. Porsche Design describes the finish as solid platinized metal. Retail price was $400 in 2016.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
