Help Finding A Parker G2 International Refill At/under .5Mm

Recommended Posts

i am going slightly nuts trying to find a refill for my studio neat mark one pen

i prefer smaller point sizes, like anything .5 and under, i am ok with pilot gels at .5 and .38 sizes which are great for example but don't fit the mark one which takes the schmidt p8216 and parker g2 international

finding a parker g2 international refill gel at .5 and under is like discovering the holy grail and so far impossible

can anyone point me to a ) actual parker refills at .5mm and under point size anywhere

or b ) successful hacks on other refills that don't require a huge amount of work

thanks a lot !

Is this the sort of thing your looking for:

https://www.cultpens.com/i/q/OH43610/ohto-pg-105np-needlepoint-gel-refill

or from JetPens:

Nice writing refill if you like fine lines.

good call, using this one right now from cult pens, i find it just ok, compared to my pilot g2 even down to the .38 point, it just isn't as smooth or dark as i would like, also, it only comes in black, thanks for the idea, if any others come to mind, please let me know

I am not a big fan of thin refills but the only one I know, never used it, besides OHTO is Uniball's SXR60038.24, with 0,38 mm point. There is also Schneider Gelion 39, line width is 0,4 mm; probably not what you want.

You probably know pens with 0,18 and 0,25 mm points but I've never heard of a Parker G2 refill that fine.

Good luck,

the best so far is the ohto pg105np https://www.cultpens.com/i/q/OH43610/ohto-pg-105np-needlepoint-gel-refill

the schneider is a gross mislabeling, it is so far from a .4 line that it is laughable

the uniball is actually not a parker g2 international

i think i have struck out, the ohto is really about it, the only parker g2 international at or under .5, seems crazy but true

Go down the page, the SXR600 series is a standard G2 (Parker style refill)

thanks a lot !

i feel like a guy wandering in the desert and dying of thirst who just sees an oasis, can it be true ? :)

great to know that unicorns exist, good that it has both blue and black and great to know it comes in a .5 but especially a .38, not so great that it isn't all-gel but i have heard good things about the uniball jetstream, it is supposed to lay down a nice dark line

the challenge now will be to find buyable refills in colours and sizes that don't break the bank, likely somewhere in japan

if anyone has any pointers to reasonably priced refills i would appreciate it

I love the Schneider Gelion. But I agree it is not 0.4mm. More like 0.6mm or 0.7mm. Which is great for me because I hate 0.4mm refills.

i found an sxr-600-38 as usk15 pointed to in the thread above, cost me about $15USD shipped and it writes a very fine .38 line without hard starts or skips, not the ease of a gel line and not quite as dark as i would like but not bad and so far the best i could do

i have the ohto .5 gel which is a nice smooth dark line but a bit too thick

haven't decided if i will go back to the same ebay seller and buy the sxr-600-05 which is the .5mm line

these really are among the only possible options if you want a real .5 line or less in the parker refill, kind of astonishing that there are so many refills and 90% are at .7 and above ... though i do understand that for general writing and office work, the .7 is the most popular size

thanks all who responded

I second the sxr-600-38. It's a great refill in your size. As you noted it's a bit expensive, but I get them from amazon Japan, usually in 3 packs. Not so bad if you are buying enough other stuff

I believe I have ordered these (.5, black) in the past from Fountain Pen Hospital.

If you come up empty, PM me. I will check to see if we still have spares that I could send to you.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
