Can The Nib From A Sailor Promenade Go Into Any Other Pen?

Long story short, I have a spare Sailor Nib without a feed - since it appears that Sailor doesn't sell parts like this, I was wondering if the nib would work on another pen.

Thanks in advance

I'm not familiar with the Promenade. I have read, and believe, that to switch a nib from one Sailor to another, you have to stay within the same nib size. For instance, a nib from a Pro Gear Slim can go into a 1911S, because they both take the 14K smaller nib. Can't switch out 14K with 21K.

I am in need of the smaller Sailor nibs, 14K, in Broad or Zoom. What type of nib do you have?

Amongst Sailor models, the Pro Gear Slim, 1911S and Promenade use the same feed & nib.

There's a 1911S 21k version, so some 21k nib will fit.

Beyond that, I don't know about any other pens or brands that takes Sailor nibs.

Some people manage to marry parts and create a Frankenpen, but don't know what you're interested in.

That's not strictly true. There are Sailor Profit Standard models that come with 'medium-sized' 21K gold nibs; those can go into a Sailor Profit Standard, Professional Gear Slim and Promenade models, and even Kabazaiku and Koshu-inden models, that normally come fitted with 'medium-sized' 14K gold nibs with the 1911 imprint.

As far as I recall, Sailor's 14K nibs only come in the ‘medium’ size, whereas the 21K nibs come in ‘medium‘, ‘large' (for the Profit21 and Professional Gear 'Classic' models) and 'extra large' (for King Of Pen models).

I suspect they're also interchangeable with the (steel) nibs on the Sailor Procolor line.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
