This people really know how to administer their legacy! The pens of the bordeaux/burgundy Meisterstück line of the Eighties and Nineties are very much sought after by pen lovers and collectors. Nobody was perhaps hoping that Montblanc would reintroduce this color in his standard lines, but here it is, in a somewhat special (but not limited) Edition.

 

A great move, in my opinion. Burgundy Meisterstücks will continue to be rare birds, but you can now buy a new one, would you want...

 

The 146 I find gorgeous. The visual references to Saint-Exupérys novel are not overdone (which is really good), the champagne gold trims on that burgundy resin are very classy, and the large ring on the cap finial - similar to those used in the UNICEF editions - is simply splendid. For those who hunted for a vintage burgundy Le Grand, this is a very valid alternative, on par if not better than the original!

 

You will have to pay a premium of about 25% over the price of a standard 146, but the Petit Prince Planet is no doubt a premium pen.

 

In general, the whole Le Petit Prince Planet series is pretty well designed. I also like the Solitaire, and I am usually not attracted by Montblancs eccessive blink on this department. But this editions Solitaire is a well done pen.

Owning an old burgundy 146 I don't feel the need to scratch the itch on this one but I can see that it might be very tempting to some....perhaps many. I'm curious to see what the matching ink will be.

This is perfect!

 

I have been on the market for a 146R for some time, and with this one my "need" will be satisfied.

So, no more 146R for me.

 

I'd love a burgundy ink too.

I have a Bordeaux 147 already — so, I am thinking about buying the 145 Doue Classique. The translucent barrel is intriguing to me. I need to see it first before making a decision. The Rose Burgundy ink also looks appealing and I wonder if there will be a notebook. I am not sure when Boutiques will reopen here in the USA but I will be eager to see the entire line.

 

I agree with fpupulin that MB has done a nice aesthetic job with this series. I have the two previous 146 Resin iterations in blue and brown and I really like them.

Strangely I also cannot find the Le Petit Prince Burgundy LeGrand FP on the Montblanc (Swiss site). That's the same concept as the blue version Le Petit Prince Universe themed LeGrand/146 model, with the shiny metal piston knob. This Burgundy/champagne tone version is my favourite from the Planet themed version. I don't know what to do, as I already bought the blue 146 version... :unsure:

Try the Appelboom website. It seems they have images and prices for all of the new pens, including the resin 146 with an ink window.

The pen is posted, and there is no other available photo, so I just guess it has a metal filler cone. This is the only image I can find of reference 125303, as suggested by como (thank you, como).

 

I can not find it, anyway, in Montblanc's website.

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
