Wahl Branded Skyline

I won't provide the link, as it is considered disallowed behavior. I am not affiliated in any way with the sale.

Currently, a WAHL branded Skyline is selling on eBay. The word "Skyline" does not appear in the ad's name.

The clip is stamped with WAHL, as versus the most common Eversharp.

The clip looks like it will need cleaning and likely plating. It has the correct WAHL nib.

For someone looking to get one of these unusual Skyline pens, this might be an opportunity.

I have not seen one of these show up for about 6 months. They are uncommon.

One of these already rests in my display cases, so I have no interest in a second.

I have one of these as well. It is black, with narrow cap band and Wahl branded nib and clip.

Joss, I believe that is the one. For its condition, the price is too high for most people. But for someone who is itching to fill that "slot" in their collection, it could be important to them.

The one in my collection was a luck find. A horrible blurry picture in the advertisement gave vague hints it was a WAHL variant, and at $40 bucks it was worth the risk.

In the final analysis, they are uncommon, and only seem to come up for sale about every 6 months, which makes them less common than "Executive" Skyline pens. One of those sold for about $168.50 the other day. Not everyone thinks that scarce equals desirable. I will get scarce, if the price is right.

  • 2 months later...

I have only one such "WAHL" Skyline (view the clip), the blue moiré shown here. I purchased it in the later 1990s. My other moiré FPs, and all my other Skylines are marked "EVERSHARP" on the clip.

Yep, my Wahl Skyline isn't nearly as nice. Nice find DonnWeinberg.

The one on hand here is a basic brown Demi, with the WAHL nib with a heart-shaped breather hole.

The nib is smaller than the typical Skyline Nib, but it IS flexy.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
