Montblanc Blue Hour Legrand - Screw Cap

Does anyone have experience with the Montblanc Blue Hour Legrand that can comment on the screw cap? Is it smooth when twisting it down securely, or does it turn slightly, then become more difficult to turn?

 

Other Montblanc fountain pens Ive owned with a screw cap glide effortlessly to a natural stopping point, but the blue hour seems to get stiff after a very minor turn to close it.

Not sure I know exactly what you mean but mine has a little resistance. I suspect - but really don't know - that this might be a layer of some kind to protect the pen when posting the cap. The resistance feels sort of waxy.

I think I know what you mean -- mine turns smoothly for about a half turn, then for about a quarter-turn it sort of tightens and clamps down.

I never really thought about it, but I guess I sort of find that effect pleasing!

This seems to be a feature on newer Montblanc pens!

 

My newer Solitaire have it but also the Dean and Homer.

Yes, this is exactly the experience I have with mine. Thanks for confirming that it's par for the course with this pen.

 

My Montblanc Citrine Legrand doesn't have this same feel.

Yes, only on newer pens with a certain design. Not on the older original shape like the Citrine.

Looks like the newer designs have that one....the 4810 Hadrian feels very similar to the Blue Hour Legrand.
