Hi Everyone,

A plum 51

A mandarin yellow Duofold

And for inks:

Parker 51 Tunis Blue and the (other) lustrous Superchrome inks when they were new and fresh and pristine.

My Avatar - the Montblanc Princess Grace de Monaco in all three forms (which will likely never happen).

I am a humble man.

Noodler's Boston Safety...

I tried to make a shameless offer for a used one, to no avail.

Perhaps I should buy a new one for full retail price. But Honeybadger said it isn't very practical in a day to day office, and I tend to trust him.

Any pen with an integrated nib like the Pilot Myu. I know there 's a Parker from the 70's and a Porsche Design pen.

Also for the WTH factor the Chaos pen that Sylvester Stallone designed for Montegrappa.

Don't use it in the office, use it somewhere else!! :D

For me, I'd like to see a Conid.

I'd like to be able to see (and hold/try) a Yard-o-Led Viceroy Victorian Standard. That's my grail pen, because I doubt I'd ever be able to afford one unless I win the lottery. They had what looked like one at Fountain Pen Hospital in NYC, but I thought it would be rude to ask someone to open the case for me to hold to see about the weight/girth/balance of the pen, when I wasn't going to be buying it.

Waterman #7 White Keyhole Nib. Black Keyhole Nib as well (the Black nibs are known to exist).

Sterling capped Skyline (they do exist)

All Platinum Skyline (they were advertised, but have never been seen in the wild)

The special edition Coronet which was solid gold and had diamond accents (only highly connected diplomats and heads of state got one of these pens).

A Waterman Lady Patricia in Nacre, with no discoloration. Largely true for Onyx as well.

Outside historical objects

Montblanc Leonardo

and those with eccentric custom made nibs like Regalia's

The rest of the pen I would like to see or try usually someone in the local pen club has it, so it's not that near-impossible to see in person.

I'd rather like to test-drive a Waterman Pink nib, to see how it stacks up next to my Conklins and maybe my dip nibs.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
