OMG - very tempting. How much, but I'm afraid to ask.

Stilographica site says €44, but not yet released. I believe the 10ml set are available on LCdC.

Enough Perle Noir to keep one going for a week or two, at least.

Add lightness and simplicate.

literally and figuratively flooding the market? consumption for consumption. More and more, as it happens, of the same.

The vintage labels look nice.

The price ±50$ is ridiculously low for 5X100ml of ink.

The Pelikan 1L bottles are available here in Switzerland for about 26CHF = 27USD online. It is obscene.

I dare not look out how much even cheaper they are in Germany.

But i did: 18€41 aka 21$

I'll pass. Of course.

Hi Everyone,

I love the labels and the wax seals; one can only wonder if they used corks as well. :D

Very tempting.

I’d love one of those, but not in any of the offered colors. Some odd choices, like who would use 500ml of Vert Reseda, vs something practical like Vert Empire or Vert de Gris? Money saved.

Those 5 colors are from the original line-up.

I am definitely thinking of the set of all 5 colors at 10ml each. Gift set with a 100ml bottle and an ink cup is kind of cool, but rather pricey. As for 500ml bottle- Violette Pensee is tempting, but am afraid that I’d drink it by mistake!

Is Vert Empire not one of the early inks?

Apparently not. At least now we know what the original five colors were - that alone is fascinating to me.

Oh, man. Why do I even come here when I know this is going to happen... when I know that I am going to by MORE ink? I don't think I will be able to use all the ink I already have before I shed this mortal coil.

Think of it as an object de arte and put it on a bookshelf or coffee table.

I think it will look awesome in the ink cabinet.

  • 1 month later...

Pelikan has 1L bottles, but only in 4001 Brilliant Black and 4001 Royal Blue, 56USD on Amazon, 69GBP on two sites at least. You can special order up to a gallon of various Noodler's inks, but who knows for how much.

I like those Noodler's growlers you can buy. Probably very pricy though.

I was tempted to buy one of the Pelikan ink bottles just because it was massive, but then I realized that it is a huge waste of money because I would never use up that ink. It would take me years. I'm sure it is intended more for nibmeisters and pen repairers who are testing lots of pens every day.

The original colour make sense:

Blue, for grown ups

Red, teachers and accountants

Green, accountants

Violet, students and public officials

Black, lawyers and accountants

I see myself using violette pensee.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
