Is the Petit Prince series done then, or is this something in addition?

In addition to the Heritage series.

Personally I am surprised that the Egyptomania pieces warranted a mention when other future releases are far more striking. Wait till you see them!

Ah well, each has his own taste and priorities :)

I share your feelings.

I'd have expected other Montblanc 2020 releases to receive more interest in Latin America than the comparatively routine Egyptomania series.

I guess that shows once again how little I understand the taste and interests of others.

In any case, 2020 will be a memorable year for all of those who appreciate Montblanc's Hamburg artistry.

I confess that I am a little lost in this topic. Within the restrictions of this forum, without breaking rules, can anyone indicate what this Egyptomania is about?

Well, the POA is devoted to Aztec (!).

because POA 2020 is dedicated to an Egyptian

I believe that is not related to inks, but a new collection of pens - as far as I know.

~ Very possibly the Heritage Egyptomania models will be accompanied by a Montblanc scented ink.

Not finished, will continue on. There is one that looks similar to the discontinued 146R which I'm keen on, the first for me & the PP Series!

The Heritage Egyptomania pens look very nice and it looks like they will share the same excellent soft nib with the triangular breather hole that the previous Heritage pens had (1912 and Rouge et Noir). They appear essentially to be the same construction as the Rouge et Noir - slim profile with a lacquered metal barrel and metal section - but a different barrel and cap/clip design. I guess the filling system will be the same captive converter type too.

If this is right then it will likely have a very nice quality feel, though not everybody favours such a slim pen. I hope that Montblanc has improved the seal of the cap, as the Rouge et Noir pens are prone to drying-out, at least in my experience. This pen looks like it has a similar cap fitting in that the threads are at the nib end of the section.

I hope I’m not breaking any rules speculating about some of the features like the nib and body shape, based on what I can see from googling photos of the pens. I am unsure where the line is regarding “posting distinctive details” of pens not yet released.

~ The scented ink for the Egyptomania releases may very likely be a blue hue tending toward blue-green.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
