Those colours look lovely to me, and much better than what Pensachi is selling (opaque black, red or yellow bodies with chrome trim) at the moment.

Mmm - I know gray is an "in" color, but grayish pens? Not sure I like 'em.

So, I'm presuming that these would be shorter than a "regular" Pro-Gear Slim? Like a pocket pen size? Are they the same otherwise (I.e., in girth)?

But I agree, the colors shown aren't all that enticing. As in, not remotely enticing. Makes me think of the problems I had with getting a Pilot Decimo in a non-"girly" color.... :angry:

I do like the yellowish, darker pink and darker blue ones - but why the black section? Theyd look much better if it was all the same colour.

I think I like the 'Russian Blue' Sailor Pro Gear Slim in that double spread the most. Not big on the glittering see-through Sailor Pro Gear (Classic) models.

Going through my husbands pen boxes when we found one of these in Black. Does anyone know what type of converter it takes and where I can buy one?

A shorter one than the currently available 14-0506 series of converters.

 

Note that the Sapporo Mini is cartridge-only, as the barrel is too short to accept a converter. (Sailor apparently made a “mini converter” for this pen years ago, but discontinued it.)

I don't think you can just buy one from a shop today. Maybe if you look on eBay patiently enough, or post a Wanted-To-Buy in the classified ads here, one could come up.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
