Ok...

I was surprised that this isn't a thread already here even though the post in reddit is 8 days old. (maybe I missed it in the FPN, in that case consider this thread obsolete).

Time to load up your preference for the colors ladies & gentlemen.

I want a really deep dark red (darker than the Cult Pens) but in the same color palette as the Oxblood.

The poll will stay up for 2 weeks if I'm not wrong.

Thanks. I had missed it on reddit, even though I check the subreddit several times a day. Gave my input as well.

What color did you opt for?

I made two suggestions:

1. A black or very dark blue green ink with purple, blue and green shimmer. My vision being oil on a black asphalt.

An oil spill has the full color spectrum, but I'm interested only in the cooler tones.

2. A petrol green-blue in a shade I've yet to come across. The exact color code being RAL 5001 blue green.

Update on the Diamine reddit poll, you can vote for the final rounds here:

Not much being talked around here eh?

Anyway I was surprised that my preference of a dark red has made it into the final rounds with the other options being as usual a turquoise-teal color palette.

By the polls, it is also winning by a large margin compared to the second place currently.

Aurora Borealis wasn't my cup of tea, but I loved Earl Grey. I'm very curious about this "black cherry" especially how it'll compare with Oxblood and other dark reds.

Very interesting! Ive been away from FPN and FPS for awhile so I just caught wind of this poll today.

Ah...no questions on which one Im voting for, the name is too good to resist. ;) Thanks for the link!

The black cherry seems to have a commanding lead, which is okay with me. I can't wait to see it; I love Aurora Borealis -- it almost instantly became one of my favorite inks.

I would have voted for smoky French Blue or the Jade. Missed the chance. I doubt Ill buy it because I bought a bottle of Franklin-Christoph Black Cherry ink and a nib earlier this year.

Edit: I looked at a review of Franklin-Christoph Black Cherry, and it looked more like purple.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
