What’S On Your Pelikan New Year Wishlist?

No particular wish list for me. Id like to see Pelikan continue to push out of their comfort zone and bring some additional creativity to their releases.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Well, I got the M200 Brown and (new) Gold marbleds back in Oct? Nov? so I'm set for the moment.

Now, if they came out with a deep red marbled ....

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Been contemplating a second Pelikan for some time. The choice has been narrowed down to (in no particular order):

M600 (red stripe)

M605 Stresseman

M1005 Stresseman

I love the grey/black (my only Pelikan is the M805 Stresseman) look. The real question is whether I want to go larger - I do like large pens - or go slightly smaller. a rebate fro the taxman in April/May will give me the funds to do it! (Here’s hopping the taxman gives me some money back.)

There are only two Pelikans left on my wish list: a M200 in green and a M900 Toledo.

I'd also like an m205 demonstrator.

Thinking about purchasing one of those impulsively......

I used Pelikan Collectibles and created a spreadsheet for myself to better keep track of my wishlist. From all the sizes I like the M800 the most, then M1000, M600 and lastly M400/200.

I almost completely ignore the M1000 line-up because I wouldn't be able to afford to get all of the pens I would like from there and the M400/200 is too small for my liking so I don't want to own pens I don't enjoy using. I only went with the M101N because I like the design but it's seriously low priority.

The M200 line is pretty awesome though! I wish some of the colors would be scaled up to the M800.

That’s quite a list! I can see you like m800s...I keep a similar one on Evernote. Would love to find a Gekko or have one made like that too!

Oh I hear you! Out of all I like the raden M800s the most! I even have them highlighted in the list. :D

A custom made from Bokumondoh would also be pretty nice! I feel like if I ever manage to complete that list, the next stop will be custom Pelikans.

Yes please, Interesting nibs please. Edged obliques, B, BB please. Semi-flex or two here and there would be nice as well. Please.

Add lightness and simplicate.

I am waiting for the next white color M60x, I have the white transparent, a colored companion will be nice.

Also curious of the next M101n release. The red tortoise I bought last year is my most comfortable pen. I like how light it is, and how long it is when posted. Although I dont like the nib. I find it too soft. I am enjoying the pen with an M200 nib, which matches with the pen very nicely.

On the nibs, Montblanc released a semi-flex 149 a few months back, from what I read it was well received. Maybe Pelikan will follow the trend? Please do!

A Pelikan m800 - maybe a Blue Dunes or Stone Garden or maybe a Stressman. And perhaps one of the new m200 Pastel Greens. And I would prefer those in a B or BB, or perhaps a Fritz Schimpf Italic.

But, before I obtain one or more of these, I am going to get the Montblanc on my wish list.

Your wish list is one with which I fully identify.

The M200 Pastel Greens are in my mind.

I hope that in 2020 more than one item on your wish list will reach your writing desk.

I made a grail Pelikan purchase at the end of 2019 so unless we finally see that M600 Brown Tortoise SE or another M800/M805 Raden offering, I am not allowing myself to make any new acquisitions this year haha

The M605 Stresseman is certainly in my 2020 wish list, then there are dreams such as an original 1931 Toledo :D

Hey folks,

I just bought an M101N in the grey-blue. What can I say, I saw the deal and did it! I have an original 100N, so I know I like the size and so on. At the end of last year I found a lovely 400 tortoise, and I also became custodian of a gorgeous W. Germany M800 triple set. I think it might be time to stop.

However, like many of the posters above, if they did something a wee bit different, it would be hard to resist!

Happy New Year,

Ralf

I think on my list is an M800 once I get a full-time job and pay down some college debt. Otherwise, I still want the M205 star ruby.

I'm pretty happy with my Pelikan collection and don't really have anything in the wish list.

I might spring for a M900 Toledo, but it is not something that I really "need".

Of course, that is not to say that I will not buy "one or two" birds this year. :D

To be satisfied is a happy feeling.

Whatever Pelikan you might add in 2020, I hope that it'll write well for you.

Who knows what unexpected beauties might be offered this year?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
