Yes. I used a Kultur as a donor pen to use its section for a Phileas with a section crack. It was less expensive to do that than get a Phileas and take its section.

I received two Phileas for Fathers day and BOTH have cracked sections. Did you ever find a replacement or a way to repair the section? Did a Kultur section work? I'm trying to find out if I can disassemble and then switch the nib from my original into a Kultur section.

Kulture section parts are identical to the Phileas. The nib and feed can be pulled out with ease. Soak the complete assembly first in soapy water to lubricate the parts.

That the Kultur sections can replace Phileas sections is very helpful. I have had a few Phileas sections that were cracked.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
