I. THE NEXT PAN PACIFIC PEN CLUB MEETING WILL BE:

The “get ready for L.A.” meeting

Saturday, January 11

11:00 to 2:00

On the Stanford Campus:

Chemical Conference (Gazebo I)

Stanford, CA 94305

https://goo.gl/maps/Kr9ugAts8BTmTWXR8

It is the hexagon building between the two rectangles.

Since it’s a Saturday, parking will be free. Between the Parking Circle, Roth Way, and the Roth Way Garage there should be plenty of open spaces.

For the culturally minded, we will be across the street from the Rodin Sculpture Garden, and the Cantor Museum.

The museum is free (https://museum.stanford.edu/)

You can check out the sculpture garden to see which models of fountain pens the Rodin bronzes are using.

We will be about a 5-7 minute walk from Tresidder Union (for food) or the bookstore (for stuff).

=====

II. BOOK SHARE:

Last year we had a book share meeting. People brought a few interesting books or magazines on pen collecting, handwriting, or calligraphy just to let people look through them and see what was available. Not necessarily for sale or trade.

If you like the idea send back an email. If I get a few positive responses I will include it in the next announcements for this meeting.

=====

III. DUES ARE DUE:

The club requires minimal resources to operate. Some locations are free, but we occasionally need to rent a room. The food and coffee also costs.

If you regularly attend meetings (or just want the club to continue to operate) the annual dues are $30.00. Please arrange payment with Todd (treasurer) or pay him at the next meeting.

=====

IV. L.A. PEN SHOW:

NEW DATES;NEW LOCATION:

The L.A. Pen show is coming up – February 6 through 9. The dates and the location are changed from prior years.

V. SAN FRANCISCO PEN SHOW:

OK – maybe a little early (next Aug. 28-30). But you can reserve a table on the web site now. Tables will sell out well in advance.
