Dolce Vita Mini?

I'm interested in purchasing a Delta Dolce Vita Mini fountain pen so I'm trying to do a bit of research to find a good, reliable source for these pens as well as the best, most reasonable price. I prefer a cartridge pen to a piston fill if possible but either would work for me. Can anyone steer me to a good source?

Delta closed down two+ years ago.

There are currently two on the #bay in Japan for $1700 or so. Keep checking vintage sites, or put up a WTB in the Classified section.

Good luck!

$1700 that's insane. I have one but I can't sell it as it was a gift (though too small, wrong size). Oh what a pity, urrggg! I would say pen shows. I would guess that they should go for $350-450? That would be more sensible...

I want to personally and publicly thank como for his most kind and generous assistance in my search for a reasonably priced Delta Dolcevita Mini fountain pen. I went to the link he provided, contacted the seller and I am now the proud and extremely pleased brand new owner of a gorgeous NOS, mint condition Delta Dolcevita Mini. THANK YOU, CUMO!!

Now I'm going to send it off to have its nib ground to a 0.8mm cursive italics nib by my favorite Nibmeister Extraordinaire!

That's what I love about FPN! Members help other members. After all, that's what it's all about. So, many thanks also to FPN for having created this great site for those of us who love fountain pens to be able to connect with each other and help out fellow fp lovers. BRAVO!!

I'd post a photo of it if I could figure out how to do it.....
(you may be able to tell that I'm still sort of excited :) )

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Dear ladyinthemists,

I am so happy that you were able to get this pen in the end. Mine was also ground to a cursive italic from M, crisp but smooth on the edges, very nice to write with. The Dolcevita is Delta's most iconic model, and now that Delta is no more, it makes it even more special.

Besides the above help from A Smug Dill, here is what you need to do if you would like to add photos to your reply:

1. Stroll to the end of the page, when you see "Reply to this topic" -> Click on "More reply options"

2. Do what you normally would with the text, then go down to "Attach Files" -> Click on "Choose files" -> Choose whichever file you need to upload -> Click on "Attach this file" -> Click on "Add Reply", and you are done!

Enjoy your new pen. I am happy that my Dolcevita Mini now even has a little side story to it, thanks to you! :)

Kind regards,

como

WOW! Thanks so much, A Smug Dill, for your expert assistance. I truly appreciate it. I'm generally not too bad at learning how to work with posting graphics so I'm hoping that I will catch on to this quickly. Here's my first try at posting a photo of my new Delta Dolcevita Mini next to my ancient college Esterbrook Icicle pens:

AHA! I think it WORKED!!!

@ladyinthemists, no problem at all, I didn't write the content of that post, but merely remembered that I've seen it before. :)

That's a lovely looking pen you have there. I like the colour scheme, and was quite tempted to get the mid-size, but found it difficult to gauge whether I'm getting a good deal (especially when I have to factor into account the condition of the item), so I gave up on the idea. I'll probably end up getting an Aurora Optima O' Sole Mio instead.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
