I have an off the wall question about Parker Doufold Centennial Caps. As I traverse eBay and other fountain pen sites I notice on many occasions that they offer Parker Duofold Centennial Barrels. I have never, at least recall to have seen, any Centennials Caps. Needless to say I was thinking about marrying the two (as I have several sections and nibs). Is there something I'm missing? Am I looking in all the wrong places? Any input other than sarcasm would be appreciated.

Complete Duofold Centennial or International caps are virtually impossible to find for sale. I imagine that they sell out rapidly due to the high demand (a cap breaks easily and/or gets lost more often than a barrel).

 

There was an ebay seller that used to sell NOS Duofold caps a few years ago but these caps were without the bottom part (the part below the cap rings, which is a separate piece), without cap rings and without cap dome or clip. So these items were only interesting if you had the missing pieces.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
