Jetpens just put these in front of me on their home page ... intriguing.

Apparently they come bundled with some inexpensive fountain pens. I really like them. Vibrant and fun. Anyone has experience with this line?

(Also : fibrous feed? First thing I hear of such a thing https://www.jetpens.com/Monami-Olika-Fountain-Pens/ct/4266 )

I had a red pen with F nib that came with a three red ink cartridges. The red was more like a rosé/burgundy.

Pilot Petit 1 has a similar wick feed. As with the Petit, I didn't flush the feed, just put a cartridge in the pen. The dry feed soaked it up quickly and the pen was ready to write.
Refilled the empty cartridges with Califolio, J Herbin (no sparkles) and Waterman inks, because I had those. Didn't flush the feed between any of the ink changes, and the pen wrote consistently.

All the inks wrote with similar feel in the pen.

The rubbery on the section was comfortable. The nib had a bit of bounce (not flex). Once left the pen sitting inked for a few weeks, and the pen wrote on startup.
The resin was softer than Petit/Preppy/Kultur, so the pen showed a couple of scratches from keys in my bag. Suggest a pen sleeve or case.

Had the pen for months. Nib was a bit wider than I prefer. Gave away the pen before I realized there was a Lamy converter that would fit. May sometime try the pen in EF.

I like the Olive ink, wish I could get a bottle. Very few of my pens can use standard cartridges, and these seem to be furthermore proprietary to the Monami pens.

Ah, found another discussion: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/312616-monami-olika/

I haven't even considered that the cartridges aren't International Standard :/

It was really the ink chart that grabbed my attention ... it's a nice vibrant spectrum. Pity, the only way to get to them is through this one pen.

The blue looks promising.

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.
Preferably EU.

some (early lot) are proprietary, some (later lot) aren't

Bought mine in SG start of this yr, it's International Std afaik.

But haven't been able to find spare cartridges of Olika ink in international Std then.

Olika pen is so-so... writes ok, nothing unexpected. Think it dried out that first cartridge after about 5-6mths.

Interesting looking at Jetpens listing. Are all the Fine versions with coloured body, the EFs get clear?

Cartridge with bigger mouth looks suspiciously like Hero cartridge. I'd compare when I find mine again :)

those are the cartridges ("mk1?") that I found too, but they look different to the ones included in ("mk2?") pen package that I bought. :( longer & the mouth looked bigger.

Whereas the package ones were of Short International length & narrower mouth.

I didn't bother buying carts as luggage space was scarce.

Other thread mentioned the Mk1 pen & cartridge was similar to Lamy size (Z25 converter usable)

which corresponds to larger mouth than International.

I gotta go look for my pen/s :) dunno where they've gone too since getting packed away.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
