Is it true that Sailor doesn't sell the black Sailor 1911 in Germany due to an agreement with Montblanc?

I have heard Sailor was sued by Montblanc? When was that?

@catbert Yes, I was quite aware of that. It's still purportedly a retailer presence in the German market targeting a customer base that is shopping from Germany.

If, by "Sailor ... in Germany", @mke only meant companies listed with German street addresses on Sailor Pen's official "Where to Buy" page, there is no speaking for the retailers that have no web site URLs shown in their listings; and I question whether any retail operator in Germany other than the twelve listed are therefore grey market importers by omission from the list, and thus do not represent Sailor Pen's policies.

Sailor's product catalogue is available from the web site of its listed German distributor, but I'll note that the resource (i.e. file) name Deutschland2015.pdf dates it back to 2015, and may not reflect accurately or comprehensively what is offered through official distribution channels today in Germany.

I meant an official provider of Sailor products in Germany - licensed by Sailor.

The rest is grey import which doesn't need to obey a Sailor-MB contract.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning.
