Hi everyone, let me introduce myself. Forgive my English, but I am not very expert at speaking it and, for this reason, I also use Google Translate.

I live in Italy and have been interested in fountain pens for a few months. My passion for fountain pens arose, admiring some of my friend's Visconti pens. So I recovered some old fountain pens that I used as a child and others related to personal memories. I am subscribed to a couple of specialized Italian forums and now I want to join this one, to become more and more expert. For now I have no value pens, but I think I will buy them when I become more experienced.

Hi there greciacret.

 

Visconti make some very nice pens, but they do tend to be very expensive. You won't need to spend that much money to find a good pen. :)

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
