Fake Jotter? Help Please...

Hi,

While wandering through the internet (OK browsing for my next pen :D ) I came across a Jotter ballpoint in all gold finish which caught my eye. It comes from what seems to be a reputable seller, though not an official Parker site, and the packaging looks legit, but I can't seem to find this model on the Parker website even though it's a "London" model so I would have expected it to still be there.

Can any of you advise if you've come across this model before? It's priced to match the other "London" models so it isn't claiming to be solid gold or anything ridiculous, and to be honest it wouldn't break the bank to buy it, just on principle I don't want to fund fake pens.

Appreciate any thoughts.post-135369-0-89994600-1566457357_thumb.jpg

on the left hand bottom corner of the packaging, you can see luxor( an Indian partner for the parker brand) and followed by the words " for sale only in india and Nepal".(as generally they are priced a lot lower than the UK counterparts).

Thanks for the info vikrmbedi, I had noticed the "Luxor" but not the rest. So I assume that means it is genuine, just aimed at a different market? Will the normal parker refills available in the UK still fit?

Appreciate your help

They are made in India and the examples I've seen are not as good a quality as the French made pens.

I agree. Just to get my 2cents in, The Parker Classic ball points which have been out of production in Europe for quite a few years are also available from Luxor, and they are very inexpensive. If you like a very slim pen I highly recommend them. The only difference I see between these and my old made in usa models is that they don't have the protective trim ring around the point.

It is the real deal. I have the silver version. Just note that the parker logo is not stamped on the clicky thing unlike the earlier made ones. It is quite functional and works well. After pressing down the clicky thing to unsheath the wrtiting nib, the clicky thing springs back up. That is one thing I like about the jotters.

I also have another jotter where the clip is mounted to the body via the "feathers" of the arrow clip. when inserted in the pocket, the pen peeks out more.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
