Terrible Customer Service From Montblanc

Hello,

I ordered a Montblanc UNICEF skeleton on 14th June 2019, from a Netherlands based authorised retailer who confirmed with Montblanc that they pen would be supplied within 2 weeks.

Been 2 months now and Montblanc are still trying to expedite the delivery of pen, which they have been trying to do since the past one month.

In between all this, they managed to convey wrong information to the retailer regarding the whereabouts of the pen. The pen was originally in their US warehouse to be sent to Hamburg to fit in the nib (standard medium nib), which they conveyed as being on it's way to Netherlands from Hamburg.

Is such behaviour and complete lack of responsibility a common occurrence with this Maker? And still you like dealing with them and buying their pens?

Any alternative left now? It's has been a complete waste of 2 months and payment pointlessly parked with the retailer and Montblanc.

I wasn't looking for such an experience when I went out to buy a 7000 Euro Montblanc. Have bought pens of same value or more from Japanese makers multiple times and they promise a week in delivery and manage to deliver in 5 days.

I’m dealing with a similar situation actually and probably from the same retailer. I’m not sure who to believe at this point

If the retailer begins with a musical sound and ends with something that sounds like it could be a nut flavoured cheese, then wait. They simply don't function during the summer months but will - rather stupidly in my view - tell you just about anything to keep you on the line except what the plain and honest truth is. It will arrive and I use them often, but I always factor in a very large measure of patience.

Sounds like the one I have used in the past...

Great Characters pen with nib change. Took a couple of weeks as expected so no complaint.

One ink from an Indian company was sold out so they send it after a few weeks more.

I would use them again :-)

Cheers and good luck with your oder

Normal -- I ordered Heritage without any modification. It took more than 1 month to get it. If you want nib exchange, it usually will take 1-1.5 month more at Texas service center.

In the end, I got my pen in full sealed box and no complain at all. Their problem is not pen or time to get the pen. Their problem is lazy custom declaration plus notorious Fedex.

I think the problem is in fact the retailer. In fact, if it is who I think it is, I'd put money on it.

Say the name...Confess now !!! :lticaptd:

 I surely don't need to. There are currently threads raising the same issue. They will eventually send it though, just try to be patient.

Ordered an Aurora Blue Internazionale with calligraphy nib back in Mar, still have not received.

Thank you for reminding me of it, I am canceling the order and ask for a refund.

I, too, am dealing with this situation, however, not quite as long as some folks.

It has only been six weeks or so,though.

Ahh yes....the world wide wait......

Perhaps they only order when they receive a large group of orders, maybe once or twice a month?

Idk.

I had the same issue with the same company. It took them over 6 weeks to get some MB inks delivered to me. Only after ordering I was informed that the inks were out of stock. I was quite disappointed.

Well, there are some of us that would appreciate knowing who this mysterious retailer is. At least we would be forewarned should we decide to shop there...

Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.

I just ordered a Heritage 1912 with an OM nib from Fritz Schimpf. Their customer service is absolutely stellar. The pen left their store within 48 hours.

Fritz Schimpf has been in business since 1880. Their website is easy to navigate. They offer prompt and courteous service in German and in English. After my first positive experience I decided to purchase another Heritage 1912 from them two weeks ago. The pen arrived within seven days.

Big CONGRATULATIONS on another Montblanc Heritage 1912!

I hope that the nib will be a great pleasure for your writing.

I 100% wholeheartedly endorse your comments about the exemplary service from Fritz Schimpf.

Orders for me, and two gift orders sent to Hawai’i were handled with great care and the highest professionalism.

I heartily recommend Fritz Schimpf as a possible paper, ink and pen vendor. Their global shipping is outstanding.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
