Yes, it does. I can't tell if it's supposed to be a standard international or a Hero narrow mouth, so you shouldn't swap converters from this pen onto one that you know is designed for a German filling solution, just to be safe. But they do fit well enough.

So, do I understand you correctly that it accepts the cartridges but not necessarily a standard converter?

Thanks for your help!

No, it'll take either fine. The Hero size is a fraction of a millimetre larger than actual standard international, so you can almost always fit a standard international onto a Hero size ink system. But it stretches out the opening when doing so, so moving a converter back to an actual standard international pen could result in leaks.

The original M600 (non-s variant) was an actual international standard from Schmidt. The M600s may be international standard or may be Hero size. It's close enough for most cartridges and converters, you just don't want to swap back and forth. It's the same with most Chinese pens that take international standard but aren't Schmidt or at least German nibs.

AFAIK, the original M600 which use Schmidt nib unit taking the 2.4mm International standard C/C , the M600s use the Chinese de facto Hero C/C which use a 2.6mm throat opening ; I usually just source those 2.6mm Converter by the lot ( 10 or more ) and had a bunch in the cache , and so too the 3.2/2.4mm wide throat ones, but then I do the same with my cache of international standard 2.4mm Converter.

One can likely and usually use international standard Cartridge on the Hero C/C spec pens but can be a bit of hit or miss the other way round, just not recommended to use those 2.6mm Cart on 2,4mm International standard spec pens; as far as converter goes, its the other way round, Its not recommended to use international 2.4mm opening converter on Hero Spec pens buts its generally be found that Hero spec 2.6mm converter do seems to work fine ( but not always ) on 2.4mm international spec pens .. but try using water before committing and leave the converter with the said pen , swapping around is not condoned

In my M600S I use a cartridge which came with Conklin Duragraph (which is international standard) and was previously used in Duragraph. It fits M600S perfectly and gives me far better flow than the stock converted did.

Just to ensure that I don't misunderstand, are you referring to the cartridge or the converter of the Duragraph?

  • 2 weeks later...

Cartridge, refilled with a syringe.

Didn't try the converter.

Thanks for the clarification!

Cheers,

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
