I was kindly sent this beautiful Shimmer Set to review some time ago by Diamine. Unfortunate events have meant I have only just been able to get them on here. I welcome your thoughts and feedback as always.

Thank you for stating at the top that the manufacturer sent you these inks to review. You are more than repaying their kindness by drawing attention to this set of products.

 

This looks like a very nice color, and your review as a whole is favorable, but your remark that it has "a wonderful presence from wetter pens" makes me wonder how it behaves in pens that are not as wet.

 

I hope that the unfortunate events are well behind you.

Please don't be too perturbed by the 'wetter pens' comment, I am partial to wet pens in general. This ink has behaved well in a Sheaffer Prelude, TWSBI Eco and a Jinhao 159 with little problems (just a little shake now and again to redistribute the particles of shimmer).

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
