Wife went to Michigan to see my Mother who is having some Dementia issues. On the way to the home stops at a Church Rummage Sale. Church Rummage Sales are Treasure Troves. She has been trained to look for pens and has scored several over the years for me. Today she picked up this nice 1st model SHEAFFER TM with the SNORKEL for me. NIB is labeled Registered U.S Pat. Office.  Box is mint as it the paperwork dated 10-52. Looks like Gray. Pen might be un-inked. Either way a great score on a classic. Great Wife....Great Pen. Took her to Hyde Park for dinner.  http://www.hydeparkr...umbus/index.htm

I wonder if it went uninked because it was dropped.

Can the nib be repair or a replacement nib has to be sourced?

The most straightforward way would be to replace the nib unit part - threaded feed and point holder with the nib on it. Usually the part is warmed and unthreads as a unit with the nib attached.
