Free Samples From The Freeosk

Recommended Posts

I have found a Freeosk, or free kiosk in the produce area of Walmart, and they are also in Sams Clubs. You either need an app on your phone, or you can get a code that you type in every time. The samples vary from food to non-food. One day I saw the sample was for Bic pens, but all the samples were gone. It was the first time I had ever seen it empty.

I got an email announcing the next free sample plus the dates it would be there. Today I went in and got a free Bic Gelocity Pen in purple. They are marketed as fast drying.

I find the Freeosk app is best at quickly scanning to get the free samples.

I've never seen anything like that in my local Sam's. The free sample machine has done everything from fruit rollups to detergent pods -- but never pens....

I use it when it's something I want, but not all the time.

I think the samples do not always match between Sams Club and Walmart. I have the Freeosk app, and it shows you what sample is at area locations. I get most samples (like the single Ricola cough drop), but not having a dog I did not get the dog dental sample.

I tend not to go to Walmart on general principle, unless I'm looking for something specific. My Sam's membership is because they bought out Pace about 25 years ago (and we had a Pace membership through when my husband worked at Carnegie-Mellon.

A number of people have told us that Costco is better -- but not for us. My husband based the original menu for his sideline business on what he could get at Sam's (only to discover to his chagrin that the Sam's Clubs up here in PA have a different distributor than the ones down in Mississippi. But Costco will NOT sell us the thing we need -- like boxes of frozen croissants. They ONLY want to sell us pre-baked ones. And if we tried selling pre-made ones to our regular customers there would be riots (as it is, there were some mornings when there was already a line outside the tent before we opened at 8 AM...). Costco doesn't understand that our customers EXPECT the croissants to be hot out of the oven, after being proofed to let rise overnight before baking. My husband even contacted a sales rep for Costco (who agreed with us that their policies were stupid) to no avail. So Sam's Club it is -- even though we've had bloody war with the company that issued our Sam's credit card (my husband will still use it other than for the business -- but I will ONLY use it to walk in the door and to start the purchase process (and then pay with a DIFFERENT credit card, on the general principle of I'm not giving those a-holes any more of my money than I have to; I think I even put the membership on a different card last year).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
