I recently managed to get my hands on a Sailor Pro Gear Slim Limited Edition Purple Cosmos with  B nib. This being my first Sailor I was mega excited to receive it and try it out and the look and feel did not disappoint, however the nib has.

Its is inconsistent and scratchy at times and so I think it may be slightly damaged. Its a real disappointment.  :crybaby:   With this in mind I am wanting to get the opinion of a nib specialist. Can anyone suggest a UK based nibsmith that may be able to help?

Thanks FP community.

Did you pick it up from a retailer or used?

I have several broad nibs on my Sailor pens. They are the smoothest care free, wet writers i own.
Sailor does design their nibs to give some feedback. though not scratchy, it’s most noticeable in the XF, F 14k nibs and much less noticeable in the Medium and Broad. When you get to the 21k nibs this is rarely a problem.
If you don’t think it’s writing the way you expect, I would take it back for an exchange while you can.

Is this your first Sailor pen?

As Old Salt suggested, it could it be Sailor's pencil-like feedback?

Also, "inconsistent and scratchy at times," could be the nib rolling off it's sweet spot.
Sailor nibs tend to be shaped with a specific sweet spot.
Most fountain pen writers tend to either roll their wrist or the pen in the hand as they write (and most people aren't aware they do this.)
Rolling the wrist or rolling the pen will roll a Sailor nib off its sweet spot.
But the hand can be trained to write on the sweet spot.
