Appelboompen

Not yet because my reseller where I bought the pen hadn't yet receive it. Currently I'm using Edelstein Olivine that accommodates pretty well with the green of the pen.

Is the pen green? (I thought it was grey from all photos...) It reminds me of the Dickens in this regard.

I might have a look in the boutique today for the ink - will post a review if they have it.

Thank you to show us this model :) How many numbers for this one?

LE70, its design is more or less the same as your LE1895, just with a little bit more gold and gemstones, is however beyond my budget

Yes the pen is sort of green, the color of the first US edition of the Jungle book book. On the limited edition I have we don't see lot of the green parts.

Yes all the LE with less than 100 are not in my budget and to be honest I prefer my version. The monkey in 3D is too big. It is the same than wolf head on the 2 other editions, I don't like it a lot.

It's a very definite pastel olive green. The WE is an also very definite matte olive green. The Dickens is a very dark petrol green; this latter looks like pens described to be made out of green ebonite.

Oh my God!

I really want it! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Fountain pen, ink, notebook, pencase. I want it all!!!!!!!! ;)

I'm really considering buying. When I'll be back from Norway, I will check my local MB seller and I hope I will get the ink, maybe notebook or pencase (pencase...) and who knows... maybe also a pen... ;)

(There is just one thing which I do not like - a size.... My fav MB is 145, just perfect size...)

Even if I thought I won't buy it, when I see in real the limited edition I couldn't resist and I went back to home with it :) I haven't yet the ink because my reseller hasn't received it yet.

Some photos of the pens and a marvelous mother-in-pearl cap, so big!

And a quick writing sample with Edelstein Olivine ink to wait the one of MB:

Thank you for posting a generous collection of images of the 2019 WE Kipling.

Have you received the Kipling ink yet?

If so, how does it write in your pen?

Hi Tom,

No I haven't yet the ink. It will be probably after my Holidays so it will let some more days for my reseller to receive it :)

In Warsaw the fountain pen is available in several boutiques, but only one shop had a bottle of ink, only one (!!!) bottle. So I ran and bought a bottle. I'm charmed  , green color of the ink is original and beautiful!

I like the pen too, but it's too big and too heavy for me.

Need to get my life back on track and get back into my pens and stuff. Too long away chasing nonsense.

A wise man once said    " the best revenge is wealth "   but a wiser man answered back    " the best revenge is happiness "

The true definition of madness - Doing the same thing everyday and expecting different results......

Welcome back Pen Nut.

I have the same feeling recently about chasing nonsense.

Let's get our life and pens back on the right way.

Wow! What a lovely pen! Unfortunately, way out of my price range.

An addendum to the great discussion of the Montblanc Rudyard Kipling. The lower end model is grey and the RK ink, which is supposed to mirror the green of Kiplings first edition of The Jungle Book, has nothing to do with the grey of this pen. Its the high end version coveted with silver images that matches the ink to the color of the pen. Odd why Montblanc couldnt have offered the same jungle green for both pens.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
