CMIIW, according to the Clip/Cap-band and section thread this is not original right?

AFAIK the 2010 style nib hasn't been faked before!

Of the dozen or so Sonnets I have the section thread is different from what you show. On all of mine, the section thread goes to the bottom of the section where the converter goes in. Yours goes only halfway.

I'm not sure if that last photo is of a fake.

The 2018 genuine article in my possession has different metal top of section. The threaded part is slightly shorter than that in the last picture and the metal below the threads does not have a larger diametre than the threaded part above it.

I have seen a few of these new "Sonnets" too and also thought they were counterfeit.  In addition to the points above the detailing on the nib is imprecise.

Just saw this on ebay:

KkGn7w3.jpg

Proper Cap-band+clip

Proper Section thread

but the Nib ring kinda wrong...

price: US$ 11.25 + Free shipping

as you can see, only the nib ring and poorly made feed that can tell...

Note: this is the first time i saw proper cap-band+clip

Sorry but the clip is not correct.  The feathering is basic thick short lines, typical of counterfeit Sonnets.

Yes, the nib collar ring is too thick. The feed also appears crudely made. Here are some pics of the real thing (flighter chrome trim, steel nib, made in spring 2018). Sorry for the bad photography, I hope the pics appear all right. The nib size, in this case an M is carved in a circle which is carved in a carved triangle under the feed (!). The surface shaping the M is actually 3 "floors" down from the surface around (and outside) the triangle.

The section thread is close but not entirely: the threaded part is too long.

Indeed. Steeper and thinner like deep incisions, not like impressions (i.e. cut in the metal rather pressed on it).

The counterfeiters seem to have improved since the days of the stamped pits instead of ground feathers.

Does anyone know if the fakes accept Parker cartridges? I anticipate that they only take International size.

Will the fake Sonnet nib unscrew? If it does, will it accept a true Sonnet nib-unit?
