Hello,

 

I am excited to join the Fountain Pen Network! I bought a Montblanc Blue Hour LeGrand rollerball in late January, perhaps mistakenly thinking I was not ready for a fountain pen. Since this time, I have become very interested in the world of pens, inks and papers. In addition to the Montblanc I picked up a Cross Aventura medium nib fountain pen and a Lamy Safari with four of their nibs. I am steadily acquiring inks and notepads all in an effort to find and improve my cursive writing skill and either trade the Montblanc Rollerball for the fountain pen version or buy something else.

 

Oh, I can unequivocally say the Cross Aventura is a messy pen. I currently have it filled with Diamine Red Dragon and everyday my hands look like I just committed some bloody task. :)

New Haven is a great city with so much to see and do. Easily, one of my favorite places in the state! Have you visited Hull's Art Supply? They have a nice selection of pens and papers.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
