I keep lusting after a M620 Piccadilly Circus. Then I see the price tag.... :o

I got the M625 in red and that's all the 600 series I need. The M800 is more my size.

That said, the white/violet is currently in the mail for my wife.

I've owned several of these in the past, Stockholm, Berlin, Shanghai. I've sold them all. I was sadly disappointed that the Shanghai pattern did not align the closed. I couldn't get past that. They do look nice in pictures. Strictly 800 series for me.

Lucky wife....

I pay that much for a pen and my husband would absolutely freak. He freaked out at the price of my first Pelikan -- a 1990s era M400 Brown Tortoise that I won on eBay. It was for a really special occasion and I had to point out to him that (1) it *was* for a really special occasion; (2) it was still way cheaper than a new Pelikan M400 would be; and (3) they didn't make that color binde any more (of course then Pelikan reissued the M400 Brown Tortoise, just to make a liar out of me....). :headsmack:

I just got a San Francisco, I would also like a New York, Chicago, Grand Place, and Berlin. I am worried that there will not be much color to my SF, but we will see when I get back to Texas and see it in person!

Congrats on a fine acquisition. thumbup.gif Wish you reams of happiness.

The SF might seem dull in comparison to your pen list.

OTOH, I too like the Berlin, Chicago and NY.

Thank you! I am going to get a Berlin I think this weekend as well. So the happiness is flowing in! :)

I just have the one, a Piccadilly Circus.

Congrats on a lovely acquisition. thumbup.gif IMO, the most colourful of the city series.

Thanks, mainly bought for the psychedelic colours and also because it was based on a UK city.

The Grand Place, is similarly psychedelic but too brown-ish.

Wish you reams of happiness with your pen, I doubt you need another M600. biggrin.png

My Piazza Navona came today. Can the city series experts here help me with one question: does M620 come with 2 chicks nib? My Piazza Navona has one chick logo on the cap, but two chicks on the nib. Is that normal? The nib is 18c M, no special marking like p/f.

Very normal. Fret not, all is good and as it should be. Congrats on one of the best looking pens in the series, IMHO.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Congrats on completing the City series, lovely collection. thumbup.gif I am certain it will bring you reams of happiness.

I am after only 3-4 from the series but looking at the prices so far, it is going to be a really TALL order.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
