nope - can't see them Ricky - will you please repeat with magnified images in UHD and close up ……………………………... only joking Ricky - very envious here of your collection of Victories - would suggest you must have the best collection of these things on FPN, and perhaps much further afield too - just don't know how you find some of the rarer varieties. Lovely pens - shame about the nearest pen in picture one, showing what I assume is some outgassing stain in the barrel - is this colour 'light and gold dark pearl'?

Love the top one which assume is black lined pearl - do you yet have any of the helical stripes or herringbone colours?

Sorry to seem thick - what is TMS. I don't think we can see the imprints in your pix, but I doubt that it really matters - thanks for posting :)

Edited: sorry, think one or two in the second picture might be either lizard or herringbone.

Such a nice collection.

Do you write with them? If so, can you comment on the nibs and how they differ?

I like the nib on my Victory Mk 1 best of all the nibs I have. It is marked Parker 14K England 20.

the No. 20 is certainly the correct No. for a Victory nib, though not so sure it would have been shown on original nibs for Mk. 1 pens. Sometimes they also have a date code and those dots we're not sure of.

I've a feeling that original nibs in Mk. 1 pens may simply have shown N for Newhave rather than a 20 - but I stand to be corrected - let's see what Ricky thinks.

Agree this is a stunning collection - well done Ricky.

Thanks guys,

I don't use any of my pens for fear of breaking them..

I have seen three types of nibs + one that states warranted.

parker 14 k pen N

parker duofold 14 k pen N

Parker 14K England 20.

the pens should have - parker 14 k pen N

on a side not I have just purchased a mkii grey with an Olsen mark on it.. as my birthday treat.

hmmm ........... agree not easy. Comparing to the book, the left one looks as though there is some scarlet, and the right hand one looks more like burgundy. If really pushed I'd probably go for burgundy for both - but that's just my opinion.

Hi Ricky,

Thanks for sharing your Parker Victory. Stunning collection you have there.....probably not easily available...

How does the nibs write? Are they flexible (by default)?

I just saw an ad for a Mk1. very tempted.....would be my very first foray into Parker fountain pens....(only used a ballpoint pen, of course).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
