New from Platinum and arriving in June is the Matsu-Tora, or Pine Tree and Tiger, the latest in its Kanazawa-Haku series of Maki-e style pens utilizing hand-applied gold leaf from the traditional craft center of Kanazawa on the west coast of Japan. Normally provided with only limited nib choices, we can furnish this pen with any Platinum Century 14k solid gold nib, including the Fine Soft, a highly suitable choice for our noted Spencerian customization, and the Extra Broad, ideal for our Architects Point modification.

 

As part of the introduction of the Matsu-Tora, Platinum is also reducing the prices on the Fujin Rajin and the Rising Dragon, the two other pens in the Kanazawa-Haku series. Each pen is now retail $440, our price $352. With their eye-catching designs and superb writing qualities, these pens could easily be mistaken for writing instruments offered for three or four times as much.
