Hi all

Haven't been around the forum for quiet some time. Pen collecting was on hold for a while (mostly money issues) but this I have to shear.

lately I bought a few nice pens. The one that I think members here could appreciate my excitement about is a burgundy PFM V (style 1 cap) + PFM ballpoint of the same color . It came in what appears to be a later box for triple set. Its perfect. Had ink in it but otherwise - not a mark, a ding or any sign of use. the nib is fine and glorious and the filling system works. I even have a nos refill for the the ball pen. I never thought I'll be able to put my hands on this holly grail of mine. "sadly" it did make me 100$ poorer.

congratulations - sounds like you had a good deal, and sounds to be mint. Not that I collect PFMs seriously but do have a couple, one of which is the Mk. V with the g.f. cap - is this the same as your 'style 1 cap? My other example is a Mk. III in burgundy - agree that are great looking pens, though I'd finding writing with those nibs less that exciting - the appeal really is the looks of this pen.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
